Eastern Promise unveils new website
The Eastern Promise program has a new website: www.eastern-promise.org.
The new site has its own domain name, rather than being connected to the Eastern Oregon University website as it has been since its inception in 2012. The new site better encompasses the collaboration between the Eastern Promise partners: Eastern Oregon University, InterMountain Education Service District, Blue Mountain Community College, Treasure Valley Community College, Malheur Education Service District and 33 high schools in Oregon.
Eastern Promise is a collaboration between the aforementioned partners and provides students the opportunity to participate in college-level courses and earn college credits or certificates while still in high school. The courses are offered at a drastically discounted rate of $10 per credit, making college accessible to all students and saving families thousands of dollars on a student’s college education.
The recently-unveiled site has up-to-date information for students both interested in the Eastern Promise program, as well as those who are already enrolled. Parents can find details about the benefits of Eastern Promise for their children, and teachers involved in the program can connect with their Professional Learning Communities via the site. The site also includes information on Oregon’s education initiatives, a frequently asked questions section, and the Eastern Promise strategic plan.
